The evidence behind DigiRehab
More than 25,000 older people across 45 Danish municipalities have followed the programme since 2015. Every municipality is evaluated every year, and the model has since been tested in the Netherlands under a different funding system. The numbers below are the ones we stand behind, with their source.
62 hrs
of care freed per person, per year. DigiRehab service evaluations, Denmark.
5 : 1
hours of home care saved for every hour invested in training. Danish municipal practice.
76%
complete the twelve-week programme (18 of 24 sessions or more). DigiRehab evidence dossier, 2026.
−25%
fall risk on functional testing, alongside a 20% gain in gait speed. DigiRehab evidence dossier, 2026.
Bending the curve
The question a provider needs answered is not whether people get stronger. It is whether their need for care changes. At a large Dutch care group serving more than ten thousand clients a year, 121 clients were followed for a full year before and a full year after training. In the year before, 82 per cent needed steadily more care. After the programme, 87 per cent had bent that curve. Fifty-two weeks on, the average client needed 78 fewer hours of care than their own trajectory predicted; net of the training hours, the gain is still around 65 hours per client.
In Denmark, where a short rehabilitation course before ongoing home care has been required by law since 2015, the pattern is the same and the evaluations are repeated every year. In Stevns municipality the contract goes one step further: DigiRehab is paid only when the measured need for care actually falls.

UK results
The first English providers started in 2025 and 2026. We publish UK outcomes here as they become available and as providers give permission, with the same method: care need before, care need after, per person.
